Primary care.

Primary care in Devon is made up of 121 general practice surgeries who are organised into 31 Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across the county.

Primary care has undergone great change over the last four years, and we are constantly changing the way our service is delivered to our patients including working with Voluntary Sector organisations to meet the growing demand of our population in Devon.

We have ambitious plans to tackle health inequalities across Devon and are increasingly using technology to assist in delivering our service.

We run a Primary Care Workforce Bank, which supplies workforce on a temporary basis so if you are looking for flexibility but still have something to offer this is a good option.

We also have a Remote Digital Locum offer to some Practices so if you are a GP outside of Devon looking for flexible work, please get in touch through the bank.

Around 5,000 health and care professionals are employed throughout Devon’s primary care services in the following workforce groups:-

  • General Practitioners (GPs)
