NHS Nightingale Hospital Exeter.
The NHS Nightingale Hospital Exeter was initially part of the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic, caring for nearly 250 patients with COVID-19 from across Devon, Somerset and Dorset.
It has been transformed into a state-of-the-art facility and is home to the following services:
- Centre of Excellence for Eyes – delivering diagnostic outpatient services and cataract surgery
- Devon Diagnostic Centre – hosting CT, MRI, Plain Film X-ray, Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy services
- Southwest Ambulatory Orthopaedic Centre – two operating theatres for day case and short stay elective orthopaedic procedures, and is a GIRFT-accredited elective surgical hub
- Buttercup Outpatient Unit – provides state-of-the-art technology, innovative approaches and additional capacity to transform and improve care for patients across Devon. The new facilities (opened in 2024) comprise of eight consulting rooms, a procedure room, an echo room and a respiratory room
- The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s Rheumatology department (Eastern services – previously Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital)
