Devon Nursing Home Procurement 2027.
Overview & Key Information
NHS Devon ICB is initiating the procurement process for nursing home care provision. This page outlines the key dates, expectations, and steps required for both existing and prospective care providers. The procurement is now open and will remain open to new providers for the duration of the contract. All current providers will need to have completed the process by 28/02/2027, at the latest to enable all due diligence to take place, but we encourage providers to do this as soon as possible to allow time for feedback (if required) and the contracting process.
Please note that all contracts resulting from this process will take effect from 1 April 2027 (when the current contracts expires) and run for 5 years with an optional 3-year extension.
We intend to make this process as smooth and straightforward as possible for providers. We have actively streamlined our processes and kept required documentation to a minimum to reduce administrative burden whilst also maintaining a robust process.
Provider Engagement Requirement
To ensure continuity of care and compliant commissioning, all providers wishing to deliver services under this contract must engage with this procurement process.
Important Notice: If a provider chooses not to engage with this process, we will no longer be able to place patients with them. Furthermore, we will be required to review the patients under your care and potentially arrange the safe transfer and relocation of current patients away from non-engaging care facilities.
Who Should Apply?
Existing Providers: We are proactively contacting all providers currently caring for our patients to ensure you are supported through this process.
New Providers: This procurement is fully open to new care providers seeking to accept patients funded via:
- Continuing Healthcare (CHC)
- Funded Nursing Care (FNC)
- Discharge to Assess (D2A)
- Section 117 (S117) or Section 17 (S17) leave
Procurement Process & Documentation
For currently contracted providers, to save you time, we will utilise documentation previously submitted:
Existing Documentation: Any documents previously submitted will be retained and used on file, provided they remain accurate and up to date. You do not need to resubmit these unless updates are required (such as up-to-date indemnity and any updated policies).
Outstanding Documents (Schedule 1A): Please note that if your previous contract had outstanding documentation listed under Schedule 1A, these specific items must be provided during this procurement cycle.
